Video #1 - by Beth LaBossiere
My name is Beth LaBossiere, and I am a senior in high school at Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT. I’m thrilled that FRAXA has given us all the opportunity to raise awareness about Fragile X Syndrome. I work with young adults with special needs, and two years ago I chose Fragile X Syndrome as the topic of a 3 year science research project at my school.
Along with science, making documentaries is my passion. This contest allowed me to combine two areas I love into one project that I hope will benefit FRAXA. I was incredibly fortunate to meet the Bates and the Lockes. They were willing to share very personal parts of their lives with me on camera, and without them, this video would not have been possible. I loved getting to know Josh, Jordan, and their families and I hope you do too!

Video #2 - by Fran Gibb
I made this video to recognize my entire family for all the obstacles and challenges they have overcome as we built our family. Each one of them has made sacrifices and faced difficulties and we are stronger because of that. As Emily Kingsley said so well in her poem "Welcome to Holland" we may not always get what we expected out of life but we need to "be free to enjoy the very special,
the very lovely things about Holland" in other words the very, lovely things we have in our lives.

Video #3 - by Adam Tolbert
A Family’s Story was developed from an idea I had while in college as a way to help promote awareness about Fragile X.
I was very moved by all the people that have helped my sister and my family along the way. I felt through my experience
as a videographer I could tell my family’s story in a way that would help encourage others that may have just found out they
carry the gene in their family. I wanted to put together a compelling piece that would allow others to see how our family
has dealt with it and to know that everything is going to be ok!
We all go through life only knowing what has come before us…and hope for what the future holds.

Video #4 - by Bonnie Korman
Andrew & Zachary Korman were born on Valentine’s Day in 2005. At the time I thought things would be tough because I had a
2 year old and newborn twins. Little did I know just how much of a challenge raising these little boys was going to be!
Though getting the Fragile X diagnosis was certainly difficult, I had no idea at the time how much my boys would inspire
me to change and educate the world about mental disabilities. It’s not just that I want my children to be accepted as a part of
society; I want society to understand that they are valuable individuals with potential and something to offer the world.
Every day is a
new adventure for AJ & Zack as they learn to tackle the challenges of this world, and I’m with them every step of the way!
